AN appeal by Ian Bailey against an order for his extradition to France is set to be heard later this month by a five-judge Supreme Court.

Mr Bailey (53), a former journalist, is wanted for questioning by an investigating judge in France, in connection with the murder of French filmmaker Sophie Toscan du Plantier.

The Chief Justice, Ms Justice Susan Denham, was yesterday told by lawyers for the State that there may be “some developments outside the control of the State” which may impact on the appeal.

It is scheduled to open on November 15 and sit for three days.
